MOT Questions Answered
When can I renew my MOT?
You can take your MOT up to one month (minus a day) before it expires and keep the same renewal date. If you leave it till after expiry, you cannot legally drive the car — except to a pre-booked MOT.
What happens if my vehicle fails?
You'll get a VT30 fail certificate listing the defects. We can quote on repairs there and then — no pressure, no hard sell. Once fixed, a retest is free within 10 working days if the vehicle stays at our workshop.
Can I drive my car with an expired MOT?
No — you can't drive or park on a public road with an expired MOT, except to a pre-booked MOT test. Driving without a valid MOT carries a hefty fine and invalidates your insurance.
Do you do MOT plus service combos?
Yes — combining an MOT with any of our Bronze, Silver or Gold service packages saves time and a separate trip. Ask about combining when you book.
How long does an MOT take?
The test itself takes about 45 minutes. You're welcome to wait in our comfortable reception area with free Wi-Fi, drinks and reading material.
